Johan van Arendonk, Chief Innovation & Technology Officer at Hendrix Genetics, was born in 1958, Dutch nationality.
Since 1985 Johan has worked at Wageningen University & Research (UR) in various positions in the field of animal breeding and genomics.In 2002 he became Professor and Head of the Animal Breeding and Genomics Center of Wageningen UR which combines the activities of Wageningen UR in the domain of animal breeding and genomics. From 2010 to 2015 Johan was also Dean of Sciences of Wageningen UR.
Johan joined Hendrix Genetics on January 2016 in the position of Chief Innovation & Technology Officer located in Hendrix Genetics’ head office in Boxmeer. In this position Johan is responsible for the global R&D strategy and programs of Hendrix Genetics. He leads the Research and Technology Center and Breeding IT department and, in close cooperation with the R&D Directors of the Hendrix Genetics’ business units, develop, implement and manage the R&D programs for all businesses in line with their strategy and targets.
Johan is spokesperson for all Hendrix Genetics research and technology subjects. Johan holds a PhD degree in Animal Breeding and Farm Economics (1985).
